3.3-magnitude earthquake strikes near Vashon Island

 A 3.3-magnitude earthquake reportedly occurred near Vashon Island late Monday night, according to the (PNSN).

The quake hit at approximately 11:10 p.m. on March 17, with its epicenter 10 miles away from Tacoma and 14.5 miles away from Bremerton. Tremors from the quake could be felt throughout the island, while residents in Tacoma and Renton felt its impact as well.

The earthquake was initially reported as a 3.2 magnitude, but PNSN upgraded it by 0.1.

“This report supersedes any earlier report of this event,” PNSN stated in its alert upgrading the quake’s magnitude. “This event has been reviewed by a seismologist.”

No significant damages have been revealed, as of this reporting.
